info
Anna Wachsmuth’s practice unfolds between sculpture and installation. Through a research-driven and spatial approach, she explores the ecology of memory, memory culture, and trauma, and the ways individual and collective histories continue to shape the present.
Her work engages with historical sources and personal narratives, paying particular attention to how memories are constructed, transmitted, suppressed, or transformed over time. She is interested in how traces of the past persist within objects, materials, and spaces, and how these fragments of history continue to inform contemporary experience.
Based between London and Berlin, she received an MFA from Goldsmiths University of London (2022), a BA in Fine Arts from Glasgow School of Arts (2017) and participated in Open School East. She has exhibited across Europe, including GoMA Glasgow, Kunsthalle Bielefeld, Belmacz Gallery London and has been supported through the DAAD Scholarship several times.
